Do not freeze them as this will destroy the chemical reagents in the test strips and render your alcohol saliva test strips as unusable. Proper storage temperatures should be above 50ºF and not more than 80ºF. Do not use the test if you see a blue line across the test pad upon opening the test package. If the package is unsealed or damaged choose another test and do not use if in this condition.
Be sure to keep your alcohol tests out of the reach of children. It is important that you read the test under incandescent, fluorescent or indirect sunlight and do not read under sodium vapor light. Persons who are visually impaired should not interpret this test. Do not open the foil package until you are ready to use the test.
The Alco-Screen 02 is very sensitive to alcohol and will react if there are alcohol vapors present in the air. Safeguards must be taken regarding the use of hand sanitizers containing ethyl alcohol (i.e. ethanol) by persons performing the test. You can test for alcohol vapors by first performing the test using tap water in place of saliva. If you get a positive result using tap water, move to test in an alcohol-free area.
There will be a package insert inside of your box of tests, we advise you to read the insert and understand how to use the test in the most proper manner. Possess general knowledge of all the precautions, limitations and instructional information before you begin testing.
